Today was N’s self-led conference (SLC), which is a totally GDS thing. Students create a powerpoint about their achievements throughout the year so far, and they share it with their parents and their advisor. They also create the slides in collaboration with their teachers, so they know if they are on track. The presentation was great. Lots of thorughs about the work he’s done so far, and what his strengths are and what he can work on. He included a video of him playing clarinet, and also one of him telling a story in Spanish. We also saw examples of a very good math test (he showed his work!) and a deep dive into Science. It was really interesting and he did a great job.
Here are some examples of geography club posters he has hung up on the 6th grade floor.
After conference, we went out to celebrate at Original Pancake House. N had silver dollar pancakes with chocolate chips.
Today was also a day of firsts: first hoverboard and first trampoline catch game of the year!!! It’s also the first day of spring but was pretty chilly.
