We had a busy weekend, all of us.
A had a sleepover with Charlotte on Friday night – and it felt very normal to have Charlotte leave on Saturday morning. They talked for 5 hours straight at the kitchen table.
Last night, we celebrated A’s birthday with a fancy dinner at Fiole Mare in Georgetown. We were supposed to eat at 7:45, but our reservation was outside and it was raining, so they called and canceled it. We ended up going closer to 9, and we got a table inside. Dinner was delicious and indulgent and it felt like a good special birthday celebration. Then we came home and A opened presents.
N’s team had a great win on Saturday – mercy rule was invoked because the Reds were so far ahead. And this was a win against a team that they lost to earlier in the season.
Today we had a nice Mother’s Day celebration. We had brunch with Grandma Sandy at Little Beast and then tonight we ordered in dim sum.
Summer is starting tomorrow… A is returning to LA to start her Spanish class (boo!); M comes home from Princeton on Wednesday; and N has committed to 8 weeks at Camp Nebagamon. Everyone is heading in different directions.
Oh, and I signed a lease for the bookstore on Friday!!
Here is some cool Warhol-inspired artwork that N made at school. You can see the rubber block he made to create the faces.
OK. Time to help A pack.
