MONTANA

I haven't posted in a few days – the sign of a good vacation – so this will be a quick wrapup post.

First, welcome to 2019! Happy new year!!!

Here's what we've been up to.

Since I last posted, we: cross-country skied, skated, made a fort outside, rang in the new year, drove to Discovery Ski Area, learned to ski, skied, had a bunch of fun meals, played Codenames, drove back to Missoula and packed up to leave tomorrow. We've had a great time with the Kinches – lots of fun and activity and hanging out. The kids picked up skiing very fast and while they didn't always love it they gave it a great try. The mountain was very cold yesterday – about 15 degrees, but it warmed up a lot today which made things much more pleasant. Shelby was an excellent teacher and taught N a lot this morning, and Amy was very helpful in teaching A. All kids got on and off the chairlifts by themselves. Daddy and I did a number of blue runs so we are back in the skiing game after a decade away.

We stayed overnight near Georgetown Lake last night in a beautiful rental overlooking the lake (which is totally snowed over). We made lasagnas from the Good Food Store and played a fun game called Codewords which they had in the house.

We are very grateful to our awesome hosts for taking care of every detail and making sure we were well-fed, entertained and clothed. It has been so much fun to hang out with A, A, S and G.

Tomorrow morning we fly to Seattle for Olivia's bat mitzvah and Grandma Dina's birthday dinner!

We all have a TON of pics on our phones. I am having trouble posting them due to slow internet but I will post them soon!
