Not a banner day at 10 W Kirke.
Here are a few things that went wrong:
- Dad tried to go to Atlanta for work meetings. He was on a 10 flight, which was delayed to 11, then ultimately canceled. Then he moved to another flight which was delayed because it was waiting to absorb all the people from the canceled flight. He was not happy. He’s still there (10:54PM) and flying back soon, I think?
- Nate woke up not feeling great and still isn’t feeling great. I think he has allergies bc he is a little sniffly.
- Nate left his backpack in the carpool car this AM. The driver is a dentist who works in Kensington and it was in her car. That meant he didn’t have his Chromebook (had to borrow a loaner) and was out of sorts all day. I couldn’t go pick up the backpack because I had to go downtown for a haircut, which I couldn’t bail on.
- I forgot to leave H’s leash on when I left the house this AM, which meant the new walker coudln’t walk him bc H isn’t that comfortable with her yet and won’t let her put the leash on. (She can walk him if he is already leashed). I ended up taking him to the store in the afternoon so that he wouldn’t go the whole day without going out – I picked him up when I was en route from downtown to Bethesda. Caley nicely walked him when I got to the store, and he was pretty good for the 4 hours he was there. He just cried a lot when I left him in the back and went to the front.
- N and I went to the Nats-O’s game. It was a lovely night for baseball and we got downtown quickly thanks to a well-timed entry into RCP. Ashby is in town and met us there, which was fun. We lost though.
- But when we got home and N had some work to finish up, he was quickly derailed because he somehow managed to drop his right Airpod into a tiny slit between the fridge and the wall, and which landed on the apparatus under the fridge, and which entailed me removing the bottom panel of the disgusting dusty appliance to try to find it. Half an hour on my stomach on the floor of the kitchen. He was VERY unhappy at the prospect of losing it. The odds of it landing where it did, and him dropping it where he did, were very low.
Ok, we all survived the day.
Here are some cute pics from the game:
