For many, many years, M has been putting stickers on the headboard of her bed. Not just any stickers, but stickers from the doctor's office, name tags, souvenirs, etc. – things she has picked up along the way of life. She has also tacked up things like plastic bracelets (the kinds you wear around your wrist to signify entry into an event) and even candy (Jolly Ranchers she got when she didn't win the spelling bee). And for a very long time, she also collected lanyards from events that Daddy and I attended, with our names in plastic sheaths in the front. She had hundreds of them when we moved last month. We've removed the lanyards – and they are now in a box somewhere in this house – and she has been saying for a while that she wanted to remove the stickers (sniff!). Well now M&A have new beds, and we need to dismantle M's and sell it. So last night I removed the stickers (and today Nana worked hard on it to remove the residue that the stickers left behind).
Of course, I took a million photos of the stickers to memorialize them.
