Puerto Rico Spring Break

Dad, N and I are back from Puerto Rico. We went for 4 nights – Monday to Friday – and had a good time. We spent the first two nights in San Juan and the second two nights in Vieques. Here is what we did:

First day – arrived in SJ, had a mediocre lunch, they played tennis and I read my book in a nice deserted location, went to to the beach. We had dinner in a rainy old town San Juan.

Second day – they played tennis, we went back to old town San Juan, went to the fort, walked through the town, stumbled upon a very popular restaurant and managed to get a table after not that long a wait, got gelato.

Third day – we left San Juan and went to the El Yunque Rainforest. We did a short hike and enjoyed the scenery. Left the rainforest and drove to the coast and caught a ferry to Vieques. Got to our hotel in Vieques late and walked to the town and had a yummy late dinner.

Fourth day – woke up at the lovely hotel, packed up and went to see N’s friend’s William’s family, who had an Airbnb in the middle of the island. Had a leisurely visit, then went to our other hotel on Vieques. Walked to the beach, N and Dad snorkeled, walked to another lovely beach, went back and met Will’s family for dinner, then went to the Biolumenescent Bay and kayaked in the dark.

Fifth day – back to the ferry, back to mainland, cool up and coming beachside food kiosk area, then to airport 3 hours early, then home!

Also yesterday we walked to see the cherry blossoms in Kenwood, and today N went to the Philips with Grandma. Making the most of his spring break!
