A Historic Vote

Today I took the girls with me on a mystery errand. I told them I wanted them to come with me to do something I had never done before, that we could do it on the way to Ellie's house and that it would take about 10 minutes. They had no idea what we were going to do. We parked at the Rec Center, and then I told them (choking up) that I was going to vote for a woman for president for the first time (in the general election; I voted for HRC in the Dem primary in 2008 #SorryObama) and that I wanted them to witness it.

All 3 kids had no school today. N spent a lot of the day at home and played with "beautiful sisters" and created a train track in our entryway (with help from A). The girls went to Ellie's in the morning and made pumpkin squares and watched Parks & Rec. They also went to to Grandma's to practice their pieces for their recital tomorrow. We had lots of workmen here and people in and out of the house – heating check and new siding. We had a nice dinner at home with Daddy and are now watching the World Series.

Not a bad Friday!

M took this pic of N last night:

And in very exciting news, Grandma Sandy has lent M her stand mixer! M loves it.
