Back from the Big Easy

I am back from my trip to New Orleans. It was a fun conference and I got to see a lot of people that I know, but I wasn't feeling well for most of it, which was a bummer. Today was supposed to be a quick trip back, but there was bad weather in DC so my flight was rerouted to Pittsburgh. That turned a 3 hour trip into a 5 1/2 hour trip. Bleh. Two takeoffs and landings with a sinus infection = bad.

BUT.

I did come home to this very cute note from M on my blackberry:

Dear mommy. I miss you. I can't wait until you come. I hope you are coming back to washington from the stop. I will help you unpack when you get home. I will try not to fuss for the whole week and hopefully for more then that. I want to make you smile when you get home. The time is now seven fifteen and we are eating at clydes.

(It's not like she's a fussy girl – I feel bad that she wrote that!)

The girls had a fun day today with Daddy. They went to ballet, and then to Nana and Grampy's house where they watched Grampy and A's favorite movie, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". According to A, they ate "jelly beans, pizza, strawberries and blueberries". Then Daddy took the girls to the movies to see "Hop". Then they went to dinner at Clyde's with Frank and Addie, where I met them on the way home.

I am happy to report that Nutcracker fever has returned. The girls have been performing many parts of the Nutcracker – last night for Daddy and tonight for me. M is unhappy that she is always Fritz. We told A that they have to switch off on who plays Fritz.

I am glad to be home and hoping to feel better soon.

All’s well that ends well – as the saying goes. Your girls are terrific, and so loving. Glad all turned out well.
