Tonight was Back to School Night. (Meanwhile, half the kids we know aren't even back to school yet.) We liked M and A's teachers a lot, and think that the teacher/daughter pairing is right in both cases. M's teacher is new, very buttoned up and organized, and while kind, not soft and fuzzy. A's teacher is experienced and sweet and pretty mellow, in that she seems not to get worked up over unimportant things. I think that both of the girls will flourish this year. We enjoyed sitting at their desks, seeing their books, looking around the room, and hearing what they do every day. I also love that they are right across the hall from each other.
The girls put on a tap dance show tonight using plastic dress-up shoes they have had since they were little, which still fit. They are in bed right now chatting away. Tomorrow they have a sleepover, which includes dinner. They are heading over at 5:30 – so early!! I am hoping to unpack the kitchen while they are on their sleepover.
Speaking of the kitchen, here are some photos of today's progress. My office opened late today, so I was home while the guys were starting to work. Here are the guys working on the backsplash:

It’s good to know that both M and A are in good classrooms with great teachers, and just across the hall from each other.
Your kitchen looks lovely. I’m sure you are anxious to have it all completed so you can finally enjoy the “new” kitchen. Good luck with it all.
Love,
Aunt Ann
