Bedtime Stories

Tonight before bed I told the girls stories about when they were born. I told M about her first bath, when she was just an hour old, and when the nurse told us that she had red hair. We couldn’t believe it! I also told A about how small she was and that she went right to the NICU after she was born (even though the doctors had always told us that Baby A was smaller than Baby B). I told her that she had lots of monitors on her, but that they didn’t hurt, and that she and M wore anklets with their names on them that matched bracelets I was wearing, so that the hospital wouldn’t let the girls go home with someone else.

They love hearing stories about when they were born. I will tell them more tomorrow.

We also played "Fall Backwards" and read two books – Rainbow Fish and the book about the older woman who is friends with an alligator whose name is escaping me.

This morning M was defiant and difficult, which is very unlike her. Apparently she told Imogene today that she wasn’t nice to Mommy this morning and that she felt bad about it.

Daddy is away for two more nights.
