Lately, the girls have been fighting over things more than they used to. "She had this first," "I wanted to sit there," "She won’t let me have that marker," etc. etc. etc. It’s very draining. We’re working on sharing, but sometimes they just don’t want to share. For example – the girls have two small stuffed penguins. One is M’s, and she calls it Gingy. One is A’s, and she doesn’t have a name for it. Tonight, A said she wanted Gingy for hers. I said no, that’s M’s. Yours is on the shelf. A said, "I don’t want that one – it ran out of squeak." (Sure enough, hers doesn’t make a squeaky noise, while M’s does.) I just thought that was a cute expression.
M has also been getting very tired by bedtime. At that point, she gets irrational. She yells at me, throws things, and won’t cooperate. That’s when I know she REALLY needs to get to sleep.
I am leaving for a trip tomorrow that is actually for work, though it doesn’t sound like it. I am going on a cruise with a bunch of other moms, to the Bahamas. Rough life, I know. I am excited for some sleep and relaxation – very much needed – but sad to leave the girls. Tonight we went on the internet and looked at the boat. I showed them what the rooms look like, and what kinds of activities there are. A is very worried that the boat will tip over. I am very sad to leave them for the whole weekend. Daddy will be here and will do a great job. They have drama class, a birthday party for a classmate on Saturday, and a new babysitter on Saturday night.
So no new posts from me for a few days.
Finally, here are some more photos, from Pajama Day at school, the Pajama Party at Barnes & Noble, and Halloween in Brooklyn.
