Bunky, Day 2

Bunky (working name) turns out to be a very sweet dog. He has had a good first 24 hours here at our house. He loves to sack out on the couch and cuddle up with whoever is right next to him. He loves to trot around the house checking things out, and he LOVES to snoop around the kitchen seeing if there are any crumbs or bits around. He likes to take slow, meandering walks because he's too busy sniffing and exploring to actually make forward progress. He LOVES the girls. He loves to play with the toys we've gotten him. He loves to turn on his back and wait for his belly to be rubbed. He's soft and warm and cute and sweet and friendly – what more could you want in a dog?

Here are the two less-than-stellar things he has done:

1) He slept in his crate beautifully last night, but he decided to start barking at 5:15am. I think he was scared or disoriented. He also barked when I took a shower this morning and he couldn't see me. Those are the only times I have heard him bark.

2) He peed downstairs this morning after he woke up and came downstairs from being in his crate. Maybe from now on we need to let him out IMMEDIATELY when he wakes up, maybe even carry him downstairs.

Not a bad transition! Even Daddy was excited to see him when he came home from work.

Bunky has the shortest little legs. He's very short and low. He's just beyond adorable.

Imogene and I brought Bunky for dropoff and pickup at school today. He was a big hit with the second grade set, including their teachers. Unfortunately, he got a little overwhelmed at pickup with all of the dogs and kids swarming around him, so we may wait to do it again.

In other news, M's gypsy Halloween costume came today, and it's VERY cute.

And in other news, the girls have Nutcracker auditions tomorrow! We should know their parts by the end of the weekend!
