Buses, Planes, Concerts, Jobs and Camp

This has been an unusually busy week. I went to three concerts in 4 days – Barenaked Ladies with Dad at WT, Howard Jones at the 930 Club last night, and Jackson Browne tonight with Dad and A. To say that A was excited for this show would be a huge understatement. He played her favorite JB song, These Days, and she was very very happy. And then she moved up a few rows to dance with some older women in their 60s (about the average age of the audience) and it was the cutest thing. They were so excited to have a teenager dancing with them.

M started a new job this week  – yesterday, actually – at Busboys & Poets. She likes it! She is the only white person there and she speaks a lot of Spanish. It's a great experience.

N started a new camp this week – Landon Boys Day Camp. He has been ranking it about a 6, which isn't bad for a camp. (Nebagamon got a 7). N has been exhausted at night from being at hot camp all day and then watching the Home Run Derby and the ASG this week. Tonight Grampy came over and babysat for N. They did a Shark Tank marathon which they were both excited about.

Here's what N does at camp: archery, gym, swimming, baseball, BB shooting, robotics, STEM and soccer. He does swimming final period of the day so he's damp when he comes off the bus. Ayan is there so he has a buddy to do everything with.

A is going to NY tomorrow for 2 days. She is helping a Sidwell friend who is directing a show. She is taking the bus up tomorrow and coming back Sat AM bc she has a Kenwood shift. At first, I was like "how do I feel about her being alone in NYC?" and then I thought about it… um, I guess I am ok with her being alone in NYC.

And tomorrow I am off to Toronto overnight for work. People are going places in this house!
