I haven’t written in a long time… the bookstore vortex has taken over my life. I do little else! But I have a lot to report from the family, so here goes…

ALEXA: Alexa is in Ibiza right now, living the high life. She sends us photos from her friend’s yacht, from the dinners they are eating, from the beach, each one more insane than the last. She also spent time in London and had a lot of fun there too. She is having a very glamorous vacation. She comes home on Sunday.

MADDIE: Maddie is getting the most out of every minute of the summer. She is now in Boston visiting some friends, is spending a day or two in New Hampshire, has fallen in love with the Boston suburbs, and comes home on Saturday. She also went to OBX with me and Grandma Sandy last weekend. We had a great time seeing Jonathan and Liz. Nice mellow days looking out at the ocean, walks on the beach with Hobart and Dash, and great dinners made by Jonathan. Also, endless discussion of the VP pick.

Other than a very nasty wasp sting, it was a great trip.

DAD: Meanwhile, Dad was working hard to safeguard the future of our democracy (vagueness is intentional). Here was his thank you:

NATE: We have gotten a few letters from Nate – he was able to participate in Grand Pursuit AND go on a canoe trip to the Boundary Waters, which he was nervous about but pushed himself to do. Adam sent us a text today of Nate’s return to camp:

And thank you to the dream marketing team of Imogene and Grandma Sandy, who are now sporting their Wonderland Books tote bags wherever they go. It is the sweetest thing ever and it makes me very happy.

Pretty soon all three kids will be home! I plugged in N’s chromebook to charge, and will do the same with his iPad and Apple Watch, as they will be in heavy use again soon. Sigh. I can’t wait to see him. And the girls will be home and then we go on vacation! Exciting!!
