A few funny things:
I read the girls a book tonight about a town’s celebration that included a pie-eating contest. I explained to the girls what it was. A said, "I’d like to have a pie test. And then if my tummy hurt after, I would make it stop by rubbing it."
I have a new t-shirt bearing the name of a blog I enjoy called Mommy Needs a Cocktail. A asked me what a cocktail was, then said, "I don’t like that word."
M told me the other day, "I want to give you lots of kisses tonight because I have a birthday soon."
Tonight we were discussing what a beard is. (There were also beards in the book that had the pie-eating contest.) I was trying to think of who we know that has a beard. I couldn’t think of anyone, so they starting naming the guys in my office. "Chip?" "Patrick?" No, no beards.
M has gotten quite good at her new scooter.
A likes to spend long periods of time pretending that she is someone or something else – a doll, a baby, a duck, a cat. It’s fun for about 15 minutes and then it gets a little bit annoying because she won’t answer basic questions like what she wants for dinner or whether she needs to use the bathroom.
Your beautiful daughters are wonderful. Where do you get all the patience you need to keep up with them? You’re a wonderful Mommy, and I admire you so much.
Thanks a lot Gayle…how could you forget “the guy who works next to you” when it comes to people with beards? 🙂
