Today was a special day for a few reasons.

First, we had parent-teacher conferences this morning. They were very positive. Both girls were described as "perfect" by their teachers. We are very proud of them; these are the types of conferences that any parent would be proud to attend. A's teacher commented in particular about how diligent and responsible she is, while M's talked about how her stamina and discipline taking tests and how she works on them til the very end of the allotted time.

After conferences, Grandma Sandy came and took the girls downtown for lunch and a tour of the State Department. Daddy is going to write a guest post about the visit, and I have some photos that I will upload tomorrow. But it sounds like it was a very fun visit, and that everyone had a great time. They had a fancy dining room lunch (with dessert) and then someone who is very knowledgeable about the building took them on a tour. Much more details tomorrow when Daddy writes a post!
