Day 7: Museums x 2

Today we went to two really cool museums. The first was the Museum of Childhood that is part of the Victoria and Albert museum. It was a lot of fun – like walking down the memory lane of toys from childhoods of yore. Grandma's cousin Judy Schrut came to join us and we had fun checking everything out. There were a few interactive parts too, where N could play with legos and undress a doll and play with blocks. He was gquite gentle with some smaller kids and a baby, but also was territorial about the legos with some kids his age and older. Aside from some screaming in the museum, he was generally pretty happy there.

Late in the afternoon we made a quick stop to the British Museum, where we spent an hour in the Greek and Egyptian collections. It was of course too short for that museum (is there ever enough time to spend there?) but the girls got a little taste of it.

We took the tube home and got N into the tub, and then a babysitter came (yippee!) and Daddy and I went out to dinner with an old friend and his girlfriend. It was lovely to get out and we had a fun time. We tubed back and forth and it was actually quite quick.

Tonight, for the first time, N expressed sadness that we were going out. So cute. He also told A how much he loved her today, and has been so affectionate with the girls.

Some pics:

We like the train line going to Toby's apartment because the cars on this line all have open doors between them and we can see down the whole train:
