This weekend ended up being way more hectic than I expected, with girls' plans hither and yon and people visiting us here. We made good use of the pool, inviting various friends (Larsons/Martins and Krevats) over to swim with their kids. N had 3 total playdates with Cole since Thursday, which makes N a happy boy. Today they swam and afterwards, they played baseball, which isn't Cole's strength. N of course narrated the whole thing, parroting Bob and FP and giving the play by play of Nate Feldman vs Cole Muller. Cole seemed to enjoy it all too.
All three kids have school tomorrow. N starts a normal schedule, while the girls ease into the week a bit – schoolwide assemblies, tech training, etc. Sidwell lent all the kids a new MacBook Air so A will use her Sidwell laptop. I upgraded the wifi over the weekend so we will see if it makes a difference. Hopefully N will be able to work in his room as well as downstairs in the dining room (tho I like having him there so I can keep an eye/ear on him while I work).
M had the first of three in-car driving lessons today. Scheduling them has become very tricky. Now that I have her number I can reach out to the instructor directly and see if she can accommodate us. A did a lot of driving on Sunday, but now the '06 Highlander is showing a Check Battery light so that will have to be investigated before anyone can drive it (other than me to the Exxon station).
A saw a lot of Charlotte this weekend and went to a BTS pool party today. We're all enjoying dry, beautiful weather. On our shopping list: a fire pit and maybe another heat lamp?
Today a lovely manicurist came to the house and Sarah, Hannah, M and I got mani/pedis (or just one). It was a very nice, indulgent treat.
Ok, reality sets in tomorrow. Off to bed (12:24 AM). Bye bye, summer.
