After work tonight, I went to see a play with Grandma Sandy to celebrate her birthday. We had a very nice time.

When I got home, I told the girls that I had exciting news, as well as exciting EXCITING news. I asked them which they wanted first. They decided on the exciting news first. The exciting news is that Emily may ride with us one way or both ways to/from New Jersey this weekend. I have to drive alone because Daddy is going to New York tomorrow for work and then going to Afghanistan on Saturday night (from the bat mitzvah). The exciting EXCITING news is that Rachel having a birthday/bat mitzvah cake from the Cake Boss on Friday night. After I told the girls both pieces of news, M said, "Mommy, I think that the more exciting news is actually that Emily is riding in the car with us." Awww.

Really good things came in the mail today:

• 5 DVDs for the rides to/from NY and Pennsylvania – Princess Diaries II, Ella Enchanted, Harriet the Spy, Samantha Holiday (American Girl movie), and Nanny McPhee
• 2 pairs of pool shoes for Pennsylvania and the lake
• 2 copies of this most excellent book:

I had this book when I was little, and I LOVED it. The girls started to read them and they seem pretty excited about them. A said, "Is this Dr. Seuss?" and I said, "Yes." She then said, "AWESOME."

Need to re-scan that schoolwork that wouldn't load yesterday.
