First Day of Camp

Today was the first day of camp. I got this voice message from A when she got home from camp:

Hi, we just came back from camp and we really liked it a lot. I don't know about M. There are some parts that I didn't like. It *was* good. Um, and, it was just really fun. OK, bye!"

So that's good! They are Bobcats this year. The theme is New Orleans. When I talked to A, she said that the part she didn't like was the drum lesson.

Last night, A said that she wasn't excited about the first day because she remembered it wasn't that fun last year. I told her that she ended up loving camp last year, so that she just had to keep that in mind today. This morning, I heard her playing out the whole scenario of how the first day would go – she'd get there, we'd find her room and drop off her lunchbox, she'd go to the main room, etc. I liked how she worked through her anxiety and talked herself through what to expect.

Here are some very cute pics of the girls playing in Grandma Sandy's sprinkler yesterday (funny, that's A wearing M's favorite suit):

I feel certain that both girls will love camp once they get used to the routine. The photos are so cute. What a great way to cool off.
