Give The People What They Want

This is classic M.

M's teacher does some sort of marketplace in the classroom, where kids can earn money and spend it on things. The money is virtual, but the things are not. I haven't really figured out the whole marketplace thing, but M seems very excited about it.

The other day, she made a complicated design using circles she made by tracing the bottom of a cup, and then she spent a long time coloring them in. Here it is:

Then she asked me if I could make color copies of it for her. (I can.) I asked her why. She said that she wants to make copies so that she can sell it at the marketplace in her class. But here's why – "I mean, I don't really like buying other people's art, but it seems like the art is really popular. So if that's what people want, that's what I am going to sell."

I predict that she will be a great entrepreneur (not that I didn't already know that). I made 10 copies for her at work.

Amazing — both the art and the reasoning!
