Today is Father's Day! We had a pretty relaxing day at home. Daddy made pancakes for Grandma and Grandpa (4 kinds – sprinkes, banana cinnamon, chocolate chip, and plain for me) and we had breakfast at the brown table, complete with cards for Grandpa and some great new family pictures from the lake house. Then we hung out here until Grandma and Grandpa left to go home to NY. We had quite an eventful and fun week with them. A brief recap:
– Pirates of Penzance at Wolf Trap
– N's birthday party
– Summer event at White House
– M&A's graduation
– M&A's graduation party
– Screening of The Diplomat
– Shear Madness
Plus lots of meals and time with the kids. We had a great time!
Then this afternoon, we went swimming at Nana and Grampy's. He's now in a cast and still not very mobile at all. But he was happy to see us and the girls made him some sweet cards. Plus we got to hang out with Emily and Rachel too.
Tonight we ate taco leftovers (again!) and ate dinner outside.
Some pics from today and earlier in the week:
Here also are some photos from an earlier visit from Grandma, when Afghan Presidents Ashraf Ghani in town. Here is a writeup she prepared for the blog:
