Happy New Year and welcome to 2011!!

We rang in the new year in Massanutten, VA, a resort nearby, with Chris, Laurie, Aidan and Caleb. We arrived yesterday and will head back to DC early tomorrow AM.

Yesterday, we spent a few hours at a indoor waterpark here, which the girls loved. We had a pasta dinner here and the kids all stayed up until about 10. We woke them at midnight to see the ball drop, and also, to wish Aidan a happy 7th birthday.

Today we went snow tubing on the mountain, which was faster and scarier than I'd expected. Then we went swimming in one of the resort's pools, and then went to the arcade. The girls played a lot of games. A played one game over and over which yielded a ton of tickets, so she was able to pick out a snake stuffed animal in the end in exchange for her tickets. We've named him Hissy or Mr. Hissy, despite being pink. M never got as many tickets as A, but she VERY deliberately picked out a bunch of small prizes in the end.

More pasta in the condo tonight, plus cupcakes and sparkling cider for Aidan's birthday. The girls presented him with their gift today: a bunch of origami kits.

Happy 2011! Tomorrow it's back to DC for a jam-packed day.
