NICU Reunion

I fell asleep before I could blog last night. Too tired. So… Friday? What happened? I went to a book reading with some friends last night and Buppie came over to babysit. I can’t remember much else from yesterday! A had been complaining that she didn’t like school because she didnt think there were any fun toys there, so when I dropped her off at school I showed her some toys in her room for her to play with. Also, the girls didn’t nap – again. Looks like naps are on the way out.

Today was a marathon day. The girls had their new drama class at Imagination Stage, with New Aidan and Old Aidan. They seemed to like it a lot. Afterwards, we went to a playground in the bright heat, and then to the NICU Reunion at Georgetown Hospital. That’s always sort of emotional for us, since A spent a week in the NICU after she was born. We don’t recognize any of the nurses anymore, but we still enjoy going. We saw Melissa and the baby twins (Talia and Brennan) as well as a little boy whose isolette had been right next to A’s in the NICU. He was a teeny, TEENY baby, who was born so premature that all I remember of him was that he was basically purple with veins. He’s now an active, healthy little boy named Ian. We recognized his parents and it was nice to see them.

We also helped Daddy get ready for his triathlon tomorrow morning! He will be swimming here at 7:28 AM:

M said today, "Why do people want Barack Obama to be president?"  I said because he is very smart. M said, "But I’M SMART TOO!"
