Ice Day

We had a glorious morning. It rained/sleeted last night, so there was a layer of slick ice ont he road and the cars this morning. Daddy and I got up at 7 to the news that DC schools were delayed by 2 hours. Daddy cleared off the ice and defrosted the cars and I stayed in bed for another hour – hooray! Then he left for work and the girls woke up at 8:50, disoriented and worried that they were late for school. We had a lovely, relaxed morning, with a late breakfast and time to make pesto pasta for the girls' lunch.

At 10:30, we headed off for school and work. It was slippery outside but otherwise an easy commute.

Tonight we did homework and worked on spelling words, some of which are kind of hard (OUR, GIVE (which really should rhyme with HIVE) and FLY). THe girls also worked on some beautiful drawings, which they are drawing for some Disney promotion to help clean up the oil spill. Need to figure out what that's all about.

Tomorrow the girls' Girl Scout Cookie order forms are due, and there's a little party for all the other Daisy Troops tomorrow night where we turn in the forms.

Sounds like you had a great day. It’s nice that M and A are Girl Scouts. I was a Brownie leader when my daughter was about their age.
Love,
Aunt Ann
