I haven't been posting here lately, which is unlike me. I can't really explain why, except that I just sort of lost my motivation for it. I've been really busy with work, but that doesn't usually stop me from posting. I will try to get my mojo back. All I know is that it's really hard to write every day when you aren't motivated to do so.
Tonight, A displayed a remarkable grasp of some pretty adult concepts. We were sitting on the couch, and she asked if we could play "Fall Backwards" before bed, a game that I invented that unfortunately riles up the girls and gets them excited and silly. I said, "Maybe – let's see what time we go upstairs." Then I asked her for a kiss. She sat for a moment, looked at me, and said, "Well, I will give you a kiss if you let me play Fall Backwards." Very smart girl.
Then, she asked me if they could have this thing we saw in a catalog – the perfectly, irresistibly named Pirate Trampoline Fort. Here it is:
The girls are obsessed with it and ask about it every day. I keep telling them that it is very expensive (it is) and that I don't think I am going to buy it for them. Tonight, A said, "Mommy – please can we have it? I will use all of the money in my piggy bank to buy it."
Tonight the girls asked me a lot of questions about bats, most of which I didn't know the answers to. I made up a lot of things: bats come in black, white and grey; bats are afraid of people; bats do not land on your hands; and bats do not go into houses.
Cute blog. Please tell M and A that bats are very helpful creatures. They eat millions of insects every night and help our environment. We like bats.
Love,
Aunt Ann
