What a day! We kicked off the morning at the girls' classroom for the Inauguration Breakfast Ball. There was quite a spread, and all of the kids were dressed up. The highlight was hearing the class sing two songs – "You're A Grand Old Flag" and "Hail to the Pilim". The latter was a complete surprise – hopefully both the first and last secret the girls will keep from us! Here are some photos of the Inauguration Breakfast Ball – the class gathering, M showing off her dress, some artwork the girls made about the Inauguration, their statements about what they did on Inauguration Day, and the class lined up to sing.
And here are two videos of the whole class singing both songs:
After the ball, the parents left and the kids had Show Tell and Share. M brought Baby, and told the class that Baby was her first and best doll, that Baby squeaks, that M loves to hold Baby's tag, that M sleeps with Baby, and that Baby's name is Scooter Baby but only goes by Baby. A brought Piggy and Bunny (and Cousin Bunny and Snuffy), and told the story of how she left Piggy and Bunny at the furniture store and Daddy went back to get them and brought them to camp, but that in the interim Mommy introduced Bunny's understudy, Cousin Bunny.
Imogene was home sick today, so I picked up the girls and Abigail at school today. Abigail came over for lunch until her parents could pick her up. Then I took the girls to my office. It wasn't my most productive four hours ever, but it was fun. They caused a ruckus at work but I think they had a good time and spread a few smiles around. They made color copies again (their profiles, the backs of their dresses, their feet, and the tattoos on their arms), made a bunch of pictures for the entire social media team as well as several for Dan (my boss), and watched some TV.
Overall, a good but exhausting day! Funny – on the way home from school, M said, "Mommy, the next president after Barack Obama has to be a girl, because all the other ones have been boys."
What a wonderful blog! I loved every minute of it. The videos are truly keepsakes and so are the pictures–so very special. M and A look adorable and write and draw the cutest things.
Love,
Aunt Ann
