Today was a packed Friday. Off to school this morning, where the girls had spellling tests, PE for M and Art for A. (They both got 100% on their tests.) Then after school, they had Daisy Troop, where they made packages of toys and toiletries for homeless girls. They said it was fun today, which is good. Then I came home from work a little early and took the girls to Temple Sinai, where they had first grade consecration. They have been preparing for this for a while, and they sang songs and did a great job up on the stage with all the other first graders. They got a menorah and a little torah and a certificate. Lots of our friends were there, but we didn't stay for the dinner and instead went to a Chanukah party at Grandma Sandy's house. She made her famous latkes, which were delicious as always.
We had a nice time with lots of Grandma Sandy's friends and Aunt Tequila, who came down from NY. The girls got some very sweet gifts there too from some of the guests.
We came home late, despite my efforts at a reasonable bedtime tonight, and lit candles at home and opened two more presents: some coloring books and a Rainbow in my Room, something M had identified in a catalog that she wanted. They love it. It looks like this:
and it projects a rainbow on the ceiling of their room. They also got some very complicated and cool coloring books.
Here is the game they got yesterday:
Here are three tees they got on Wednesday night:
And finally these two pairs of pajamas:
Off to bed. Tomorrow is a BIG day! Grandma D and Grandpa R arrive tonight and Daddy comes home tomorrow, and then it's the first Warner Theater performance!
It looks like the girls struck gold. What great gifts. It will be so wonderful having daddy home again. Enjoy the rest of Chanukah. All of you deserve the very best.
Love,
Aunt Ann
