Here is how Nate/Grandma Sandy's birthday went down.

At 12:01 last night, M and A went in and sang him happy birthday while he was asleep in bed.

He woke up at 8:20 to breakfast in bed, including 9-shaped pancakes.

He logged on for school and his class sang him happy birthday. (N said the remote kids didn't sing.)

Before lunch we played our favorite game – catch with the big balls while he's in the trampoline.

Lunch.

Cole came and swam here after school.

Then baseball chat.

Then lots of calls from family across the country.

Then dinner! Shake Shack, with Grandma Sandy!

PRESENTS. So much fun stuff.

Cake! Aunt Darrah sent a cake that her friend's kids made. Yummy!

Now watching the Nats lose to the #1 team in the country – the Rays.

Not a bad birthday! And we are so lucky we could spend it in person with Grandma Sandy, unlike pandemic 2020.
