Labor Day

Today capped off a very busy but fun weekend.

The girls woke early from their sleepover, which was surprising because they had gone to bed so late! Daddy made them waffles and they had a lovely breakfast outside on the deck. Then Daddy and N went to a brunch with his State Dept. friends. N made a friend there:

Here are some more pics of the camp friends:

This afternoon, we went to an open house for all of the families who are having bat mitzvahs this year. It was pretty fun. It was at the Campers', so N was very familiar and comfortable. He made himself at home, going around and talking to people, introducing himself, helping himself to food. We got a lot of comments about N at the party – people saying how cute and funny he is. He was quite entertaining. He also spent a lot of time with the girls, who were hanging out with Alida, Zoe and Abby.

Chris told me that the Murphys like to imitate N at home because they think he is so cute.

Tonight we had dinner at Nana and Grampy's. Sarah was in town so we got to see her too! What a treat. We swam and had Chinese food and enjoyed the last unofficial day of summer.

It has been a great summer. The girls had some really fun experiences – their first sleepaway camp, three weeks at their beloved Holton, and a wonderful trip to Italy. N enjoyed 7 weeks at Temple Sinai – a place he loved. And now they are all off to new adventures at school. Things will get busy very soon, with lots of activities and homework and social plans. We're thankful for great memories of a happy summer together.
