This was our last weekend in town before our trip to Europe on Tuesday. We spent it running errands, seeing some friends and generally getting ready to go. Nate will start school the Monday after we are back, so we went to Staples on Friday night and got everyone's school supplies:
It was pretty deserted in the store – very different from years past when the store was packed and everything picked over. Nice, but also kind of sad.
N and Dad got haircuts, I got a mani/pedi, the girls saw friends. In fact, Gilley came over Friday night and had dinner with us, and then M&A hung out and played Rummikub with Dad. A rockin' Friday night, though they seemed to have fun.
Tonight we had dinner with camp friends of Dad's at Zaytinya. We saw Jose Andres there as we were leaving. M spotted him but it was too late to say anything.
Grampy came over and watched Little League playoffs with us for a little while.
A and I volunteered at a LDAR event today. This cutie got adopted. And We also made a match with another dog, who we gave a ride to the event and who was very very cute. She was adopted by a couple I did a home visit for on Friday. Her new name is Ladybird.
Tomorrow: covid tests, work and packing. And for the girls – maybe some shoe shopping. N has a piano lesson and brunch with Nana.
Lots to do before we leave, but we are excited!
