Today is one of those limbo days. The girls are back from PA, and we are headed to the beach on Saturday. So today they slept in a little, watched a movie in the morning, and then went with me briefly to One Discovery to see Chompie, the shark on the building. We showed off N a bit to some of my colleagues, and then headed home. M and I went to Lafayette playground to practice baseball – hitting, catching and throwing. She's doing great! She is worried that she will have lost a lot of ground when baseball starts back up in the fall, but I think she's still really good and just needs a refresher.
Today we were talking about jobs that I could do. A said, "Mommy, because you're so good at doing things with us, I think you could get a job planning kids' birthday parties." So cute. I said that I really only like planning THEIR birthday parties, because I love them so much. She said, "Well, when our birthday comes around, you can have the week off."
I am packing us up for the beach – lots of things to remember! In addition to baby stuff, cleaning stuff, pool stuff, beach stuff, food and clothes, I am also packing up activities for the girls to do while we're there. I still need to borrow some DVDs and audiobooks from the library for the car. But we already have Mad Libs, "Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader" books, Amelia diary books, FindIt games, board games, and other activities.
Tonight Grandma Sandy came over and hung out with us after Imogene left. We all walked up to Broad Branch Market, where she'd never been before. The girls got ice cream and we ran into some of their classmates, which was fun. Everyone is eager to see the class lists, which go up on Monday.
We are all excited to get to the beach!
I think you guys may be single-handedly keeping Broad Branch Market in business. I must go to this place one day… it comes up in almost every post. Must be magical. 🙂
Good luck with the packing!
