M told me yesterday that she wants me to get her Crocs. These are Crocs:
I was actually going to buy Crocs for the girls last summer, but they were in between sizes. This year, I decided not to get them Crocs because they really aren’t that safe. (There are lots of stories out there about kids’ feet getting hurt in them).
I asked M how she knows about Crocs, and she said that Jessie, a girl in her class, has them.
This is not the first time M has asked for something she saw on another girl. There have been requests for leggings and "tunics" too.
I do not want to give in – this is a slippery slope! She’s only (almost) 4 – I foresee many requests in the future. Must. Resist.
Daddy is Shabbat Parent tomorrow. Much discussion about books tonight – which ones will he read? Right now, M is going with Alpha Oops! and A will decide tomorrow between Honk and Rosie’s Ballet Slippers.
