Today we went to Monticello on our way back home to DC, and then stopped at UVA to show the girls the quad (?). We liked Monticello a lot. We went on a family-friendly tour which was quite palatable for N and interesting for us, and then explored outside on the grounds.
We were in the gift shop and I was looking at biographies of Jefferson, and N said, "Mama, I think you have plenty of books already." Um, yes.
We returned home around 6 and relaxed tonight and caught up on Math 8 lessons.
Tomorrow is errand day, and then we go to NY this weekend to see the extended Feldman side, who will be there because Deb and Jonathan and Ben and Olivia are coming in for a week.
Daddy has some more pics on his camera, but here is Monticello and UVA:
We all decided which were our favorite and least favorite parts of the trip (except Daddy!).
M: Favorite: hike, horseback ride, mini golf/pools. Least favorite: weather in the pool.
A: Favorite: hike, mini golf/pools, the meals, April Fools Day prank on Daddy. Least favorite: the weather.
N: Favorite: hot tub, indoor pool, mini golf. Least favorite: losing his key. (He was so sad that he lost his room key, mostly because he was sad that the key would be lonely.)
Me: Favorite: hike, Monticello, dinner last night, mini golf. Least favorite: weather.
