Morning Post Experiment

Writing the blog at night doesn't seem to be working well for me right now, as I usually fall asleep before or while posting.  So now it's 10:45AM on a Saturday and maybe this is the better way to go.

N finished his first week of robotics camp. He actually liked it! The theme was Community Engineering and he built a bunch of cool structures for his robot to explore: Nats Park, a real park, etc. The dining room table is a huge mess, but at least he enjoyed it for the most part. I will note that he liked the part where he showed all the kids his structures but he pouted and complained and wandered the house when the other kids were showing their structures. Hmmm…

Next week is Space Exploration, then a week of baseball camp, then another week of robotics camp. Then two more weeks of baseball camp if he likes it.

Today A starts her UCLA program! We have a parent orientation zoom at 3PM, which I am looking forward to. We got the schedule and there is a lot going on. She has had a lot of prep to do – writing a monologue and finding others that she wants to perform, drafting a bio, etc.

Both girls finished Drivers Ed and passed the final exam. Yay!

Last night, Tuvana and Anil and Aliya came over. It was so cute. Tuvana and Dan and I talked in one corner of the backyard about coronavirus and contagion. N and Anil got in the pool and talked baseball for an hour and a half. And the teenagers sat near the hammock and talked politics and social change and I don't know what else. It was a lovely evening.

N and I are still doing the "play every game in the cabinet" challenge. Here's where we are now.

And here is a quarantine project. The girls' frames are now caught up, and I finally tracked down the person who sold them to Grandma Sandy many years ago and got a very similar one for N. Now they need to be framed and I need to add the pics we have of N so far.

On Friday AM the girls got up at 5:15 and biked to Ft Reno to watch the sunrise with their friend Maya. Then they came home and hung out on the front porch looking at pics on their phone.

We went to Rosemary Hills to pick up all of N's stuff from his classroom. He has been reunited with his huge bag of crayons!

And here is the cutest thank you ever that he wrote to Cole, who gave him a million perfect presents:
