New Shoes and Old Friends

Busy, busy Friday. Lots and lots of errands. I tried to do a conference call from home at 1 pm today, and the girls were omnipresent. I told them in advance that I needed them to be quiet and let me talk. A kept tiptoeing back in the room and asking me if I was OK. Then they wanted to show me things they had drawn on the magnadoodles. Then they wanted to know the names of the people I was talking to. When they weren’t in my room, they were downstairs playing "Do a Deer" on the piano downstairs. It was not a particularly easy call.

I took the girls to get new shoes today. Their feet have grown so much since May that they cannot wear the new sneakers they got at the beginning of the summer and which have barely been worn. Two pairs of sneakers and two pairs of "school shoes" later… and I think we need to take out a second mortgage to pay for them. Geez.

Highlight of the day was dinner with Hannah and Andrew and Sarah at our house. I grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and Sarah brought a delicious salad and we sat outside in the backyard. We had a blast!

M and A have done a lot of growing this year, both physically and intellectually, and I’m sure you wouldn’t have it any other way. Some lucky kids will enjoy the girls’ “old” donated shoes.
Love,
Aunt Ann
