Northern California

We have covered so much ground since I last posted!

On Friday, we woke up in Monterey to such a gorgeous view. Who knew that our hotel was basically on top of the water? It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed a little time looking at the bay, and then went to the Monterey Aquarium. We saw Daddy's favorite – the jellyfish – as well as a lot of other amazing fish and creatures like penguins, eels, tons of fish, sea otters. We had to leave the aquarium to start our amazing drive down the coast. We did the 17 mile drive through Monterey – each stop more breathtaking than the last – and kept getting out of the car to take photos. We then headed down through Carmel to the Bixby Bridge and toward Big Sur, and we played Cold Little Heart on repeat for an hour.

Such a gorgeous ride!

We had to turn around and head up north so we could make it to Stanford by sundown. We did a drive around campus as the sun was going down. Campus is gorgeous – feels like a resort. After we left the campus, we met Jonathan plus 4 Carpenter kids for dinner in Palo Alto and then to a pretentious ice cream place afterwards. After ice cream we were finally done and drove to SF for our stay here.

So that is our Monterey part of the trip. Will cover SF tomorrow. We've done a lot here already.
