Here is N's kindergarten artwork, which he brought home in his portfolio at the end of the year. I've copied the description sent home by the art teacher.
Students used real textures to create specific objects/scenes. N: "It's a person. He has very long arms and very short legs."
Painting on white paper using primary colored paints. N: "It's weather, flowers, blue is the water, yellow is the sun and balloon."
N's self-portrait:
Colored pencils to create a still life. N: "It's a plant."
Students drew pencil pictures of animals using lines to create texture in their drawings:
Students created volcano collages using torn paper and warm colored crepe paper:
Students created paintings with abstract black lines and added just a little bit of color in one section to create emphasis:
Students drew pictures showing unity by creating a scene of a family tradition. N: "It's Hanukah. The green/yellow is a menorah."
Drawing of weather-related scene using colored pencils on white paper. N: "It's supposed to be just wind."
After studying a painting called "I'm Dancing As Fast As I Can", students used water color paints to create pictures of people dancing really fast.
Students cut free form shapes to create buildings where community workers can be found. (We aren't sure what this is.)
Using red, yellow and blue dot paints, students created secondary colored paintings:
This was N's Arts Night artwork. It's a paper collage in the style of Mondrian.
Students created collages with adhesive dotted foam puzzle pieces (Dot Day):
Students used a variety of media to create a winter scene.
This was for MLK Day (?):
