Tonight we went to see The Nutcracker with Buppie and the girls at Montgomery College. It was a good performance and the girls had fun, once they decided the music wasn't too loud and took their fingers out of their ears. A wanted to hang out afterwards and see ballerinas after the performance, so we waited and she got to touch at least one girl's toe shoes.
More great Hanukah gifts tonight. The girls got: ballet sticker/colorform things from us, ballet window gels and a ballet puzzle (it was a theme night), and Dr. Seuss books and a puzzle from Grandma Dina and Grandpa Ron. They also got playdoh from their teachers. Nutcrackers are still holding the top spot of best Hanukah present to date, though A woke up this morning and asked to do the Nutcracker paper dolls and M wanted to work on the new mosaic (with jewels!) kit. The cash register is still in the top 5. Also, they wore their new dress-up dresses to the ballet tonight. Lots of great gifts so far.
Aunt Tequila must have been cleaning out the ol' inbox today, because she came across an email from Buppie from Hanukah 2005 with a photo of the girls attached. I've never thought the girls looked that much alike, and it always surprises me when people ask if they are identical. In this picture, though, I can see why people ask.
I love reading about the girls, what they do and how they react to things. It makes me feel closer to them. They are such darling children. Give them a BIG Hanukkah kiss from me.
Love,
Aunt Ann
