Nutcracker Wednesday

Tonight was another Nutcracker performance. School night performances are tough, but the girls powered through. Grandma Sandy came tonight and LOVED it. She was in the second row. Daddy and I had cheap seats, but they were close up, and we moved even closer during intermission. A could see me from the stage, which was fun. The girls were great, and the bees got applause again. Adorable!

We exchanged presents with Grandma Sandy tonight. She got the girls some presents that they were begging for from the Kennedy Center when we saw Mary Poppins – an umbrella with a parrot handle for A and a gloopy water thing for M (hard to explain but it's very cool). And a peel-and-stick crown.

We got a cutting board with ridges, which we needed, and a pair of very pretty earrings!

And now to two funny things that M said tonight:

Before we left the house tonight, I asked her if she was too tired to be excited about the ballet. She said no, she was too excited to be tired. Cute! (Of course then she fell asleep in the car on the way downtown.)

Also before we left, she said, "When I am a grownup, I am going to sit on the couch and read newspapers all day. And make a lot of money."

Imogene had a medical procedure this AM and is out for the rest of the week.

What a wonderful gift exchange. The only thing I am able to send all of you is my love. I congratulate M and A on their wonderful performances. I’m very proud of them.
Lots of love,
