We had an inch of snow tonight and it completely paralyzed the city. Fun. It took Daddy 2 hours to get home from work.
M had a gimp disaster and N bit his lip and wouldn't take the paper towel off of his mouth for 2 hours. Stressful night at home! But A took a bath with N and they had a great time together. Apparently she had a talk with him about girlfriends. He said that he wants a girlfriend, and that he wants her to be M&A. We had to explain that your girlfriend can't be someone in your family. Then he picked Sarah from his class.
N ate about 30 croutons tonight, except for one that had the tiniest little triangle of soup at its corner.
We are hoping that school will be intact tomorrow, because there is Parents Night for 6th grade Dakar. The girls have written books related to Beowulf and will be presenting them. I want to share the dedications and About The Author sections that the girls wrote:
M: Firedrake: The Fire Comes Out. "To all the Team Dakar teachers who have helped me learn so much! Also, this is for my family for helping with homework and getting me halfway through the year!" "Maddie F. is a 6th grader at Alice Deal Middle School on Team Dakar who enjoyes time with her twin, Alexa, her little brother Nate, and her parents. M loves playing sports, practicing the piano, and having fun. She likes to write so she can get a chance to be creative – especially in class! In conclusion, M has had a great time with the Monster Narrative Unit, and is excited to see what's next!"
A: Unferth: The Unknown Artist. "To those who appreciate art and feel bad for murdering someone. I would also like to dedicate this story to Ms. Culp who has done a great job teaching me to write this book." "Alexa F. is a student at Alice Deal Middle School. She enjoys many things, such as soccer, and she loves to play with her twin sister Maddie and little brother Nate. She loves to smile and laugh and loves to hang out with family and friends. She also loves her dog, Lucky. Alexa has always liked school and is so far loving her first year at Deal. She loves fruit and loves to read good books. She also likes to draw in her free time. She enjoys writing because it is a time to show creativity. She likes to write to put a smile on her and others' faces."
