Here is what the kids have had on tap this week.
M is in her "minimester" at GDS, which means a three-day immersion course into a subject she chose from a long list. Her course in in Trump's America. Speakers have come in the last two days (and will tomorrow too) to talk about how Trump got elected and whether he will win again in 2 years. (Sadly, many are predicting yes). She said yesterday was a little boring but that today was better. Tomorrow AM at 6 (!) she is going to try out for the softball team. And she has actually been going to soccer practice, though if she makes the softball team, she may quit soccer.
A is in pretty intensive rehearsal mode. She has been there from 6-9 every night and will do the same until the show in 2.5 weeks. She also found out today that she got into Rec Tennis for her spring sport, which she really wanted. So that's good news! She has been hanging out with ITW people after school and getting snacks, and she's having a lot of fun.
N is back at school after a week off. I did my weekly volunteering this AM in the Lafayette library, and just as I was walking to my car, N's class was outside posing for class photos for Images. Perfect timing! I got to take a few photos of his class.
I am very proud that my kids are into the Oscars too. M didn't watch much of it (but she appreciated the Free Solo win and the Serena Williams Nike ad), but A watched most of it and entered a very thoughtful ballot, and N entered and also filled out an excellent ballot. I am so proud of them!
Here is N's class:
And here is N's ballot:
I am heading out of town tomorrow for a business trip for 2 nights, back on Friday.
