Today was the perfect storm of school-related events.

GDS: M had her first day of orientation today. This is the first time her whole class was together. We met with her advisor briefly this morning and then headed out. She got her schedule and apparently got some really great teachers. Chinese was not on the schedule so we'll have to figure that out. M is very tired bc she had soccer after the orientation and she also got up at 5:45 to straighten her hair. But it looked great:

It's hard to get much information from her. There are three Madeleines in the class. She has a trip to Calleva tomorrow and no orientation on Friday.

Meanwhile we went to Back To School night at Lafayette tonight. N's teacher seems very sweet and I like his classroom a lot. His teacher will be out for 2 weeks in September because she is getting married. We learned more about Class Dojo which tracks how many points each kid has for good behavior. First grade homework is optional this year. N was so sad that he couldn't go to Back To School night with us. 

And finally, A had a class pizza dinner tonight. We were late due to BTS night but she went on time and did some ice breaker activity with the class. We socialized with some parents and then met back at the Meeting Room with the kids for some stern words from the 9th grade dean. Sounds like it was an OK night, not amazing. A has orientation tomorrow from 8-3 and then a half day on Friday.

We are all tired – long day.
