Playdate with Caroline

Today the girls stayed in. They had a playdate in the afternoon with their new friend Caroline, who is my friend Jen's daughter. They had a good time, but I was troubled by how much of the playdate revolved around electronics – "Mommy, can we play Wii? Can we watch JibJab? Can we play with your iPad?" Thankfully there was also some good old fashioned playing, including a pillow fight.

Our next Mother-Daughter book club book is The Hundred Dresses. We read it together a few years ago, and M has read it much more recently on her own. A and I are now re-reading it together. There are a lot of really hard words in it ("stolidly", "treacherously", "suspiciously") and I wonder how much M understood of it when she was reading it alone.

M has a loose tooth – her 8th.

Working on cleaning out the basement. It needs it badly. Am giving away a few things – our double strollers. Sniff. Also giving away our old high chair because it really wasn't a great high chair. And a broken stroller.
