QT With The Kids

Had fun with the kids today even though I was gone for over half the day at the consignment sale.

N and I did a few puzzles that I got him at the sale, and he loved a popup train book I picked up for him too. I mostly stuck to clothes because god knows we have enough toys in the house. He was very sweet about all the clothes, saying "thanks, mama!" to most of the stuff I showed him. He is now very well outfitted for summer/spring clothes for 5T.

M wanted to watch me finish the book Spy School, which is her favorite book and the book we are discussing at book club tomorrow afternoon. I read the last 50 pages with her sitting next to me and reading over my shoulder. So cute. She's so excited about the book and wanted to discuss it the second I finished. It's not my typical fare – more thriller-y than I usually read – but I can see why she likes it. It's smart, fun and surprising.

M also said she wants to volunteer at the sale with me next year, which would be really fun. But it involves many hours and getting up really early.

A and I talked a lot about a potential bat mitzvah theme (which M is not excited about) and she had a lot of creative ideas for it. She is so much more creative than I am.

Daddy hung out with N and A all morning and made banana bussins (muffins), which N had wanted to do, and lots of other things at home.

I am so glad that the sale is over and I don't have any travel coming up. Lots of time at home with the pups!

Tonight we went out to dinner with Naomi, Clarke and Alida. It was nice to get some adult conversation in and still be with all the kids.

Oscars are tomorrow!
