Lots happened today.
A had rehearsal from 9-4.
M had softball practice in the AM and 2 soccer games in the afternoon. I was triple booked so Grampy helped out and took M to her games and then out to dinner afterwards. He reported that she played very well – the first game was tied and they won the second. He said she had great instincts and wasn't afraid of the ball at all. Thank you Grampy for taking M to the games! A huge help.
N and I ran a lot of errands today and then he had a birthday party in the afternoon. In the morning, we got two cars washed and gassed up, and bought N some new sneakers. He now wears a 13 and he picked new black sneakers with neon green accents. He is excited to be wearing Asics, the preferred sneaker brand of Grampy and Daddy. I explained that after 13, he'll be a 1 – going from a little boy 13 to a kid 1, and that he'd eventually wear a grownup size number. He then said, "Are there also grandparent sizes?"
The birthday party was Carter's, and N got to see his old pals from TSNS. It was hard to tell whether they were excited to see each other because they didn't speak to each other much, but they played together and seemed happy.

Meanwhile I have to share more emails and texts that I got about the girls' thank you notes.
From Dave G: Btw…the thank you cards from your daughters are so nice and thoughtful. I guess I should not be surprised given those impressive speeches they gave.
From Susan T: Nicest thank you notes I ever received. Love your girls 😍
From Amy K: We got two really lovely notes from the girls today. Please tell them thanks so much from us. I will cherish those…as I do Maddie and Alexa ❤️ Smooches to you all!
From Debbie B: Just wanted to let you know that your girls wrote the loveliest thank you notes! Each was really thoughtful and sweet.
From Amy S: Your daughters wrote the SWEETEST most personalized thank you cards we have gotten in a long long time. They each took the time and care to mention specific memories and moments and family members by name. Sofia and Virginia were also touched and said those were the best bat mitzvah thank yous they’ve ever seen. It all aligns with the warmth and love that we felt at the bat mitzvah — what a wonderful family you have!
From Tracy J: Your girls wrote the cutest thank you notes
