Shabbat Mommy

I was Shabbat Mommy today. This means that I went to school at 11 AM, participated in the weekly wine/challah/candle blessings, read the class two books, and went to Shabbat Sing. I also brought a treat for the class – brownies. A few girls in the class told me they were the best brownies they had ever had. (Thank you Duncan Hines!). All of the kids were very sweet and thanked "Maddie and Alexa and Maddie and Alexa's Mommy" a number of times. The books the girls picked out: Egg to Butterfly (M's choice – a photo depiction of how an egg turns to a butterfly) and family fave What Are You So Grumpy About? (A's choice). A was a litle hyper because I was there – skipping ahead and telling what was coming up in the book, blocking the group's view of the book, etc. She often gets like that when I come to her classroom. The girls also had two jobs today – M was Line Leader and A was Book Helper, which she took very seriously and did an excellent job. (The Line Leader goes first all day and announces the schedule and the weather, and the Book Helper cleans up the book area).

On the way home from school, M said to me, "Mommy, I want to to some drawings when I get home. I want to make a thank you note for you for all the things you do for me that make me happy." (!!!)

It was unseasonably warm today and the girls rode their bikes on the back patio and blew bubbles. Then they hung out outside with Imogene while I went grocery shopping and ran errands.

Buppie returns from Mexico tonight! Yay!

That's the update for this Friday night.

Mommy, you certainly had a busy day with the girls at their school today. I’m sure M and A loved every minute. You are a very loving and devoted mommy, and your daughters are very lucky.
Love,
Aunt Ann
