President Obama made fun of DC today for canceling school due to ice. Yes, another snow day here in DC. It was icy this morning, but by midday it was nothing but wet sidewalks and above-freezing temperatures. Oh well. Girls went to their classmate Jessie's house for a playdate, which had a mixed report from Imogene. Then they came home and Abigail, who missed them so much today that her mom called to ask Imogene for a playdate, came over for 2 1/2 hours. So it was a nice, social day for the girls.

They were so sweet when I got home from work tonight. I know they aren't perfect, and that there are days when they try my patience, but in general those two girls are so sweet. We are very lucky. They are considerate and loving and just the best girls in the world.

Tonight, M said something about a pin we had on the table commemorating the Inauguration. She said, "This is the pin with Obama and the other president." A said, "You mean the VICE-president." I said, "Joe Biden." M said, "Yes, Obiden."

Obama and Obiden – has a nice ring to it.
