Whew! We made it through a loooong weekend.

M made these cupcakes for book club today. She went with an apple theme because apples play an important part in the book, The Giver. M did the bulk of the work on these – cupcakes and frosting from scratch, colored them, added apple flavor, and led the charge on frosting and cutting up the cupcakes. Daddy and A and I helped with assembly.

How great are they?

And how great are our kids, who are dealing with busy lives and middle school and new schools and multiple sports and homework and OH MY GOD BAT MITZVAHS and days with no naps and constant nagging from us and public buses and so much more. We are so proud of each of them and love to be with them even when we have long days with errands and too much to do.

BTW, N told all of his friends at school on Friday that we were getting a new refrigerator. How cute is that?

We got a new refrigerator and our lives have been transformed.
