Splat the Cat

I volunteered for Writer's Workshop in A's class today. The class was writing descriptive sentences about something important to them. Many kids picked a pet, a sibling, or a flower. A picked Piggy, Bunny, Snuffy and Cousin Bunny. So cute. She said that they are soft and very cute, that they don't have arms or legs, that they are pink, and that she sleeps with them every night. She also talked about when she got them, and in what order. Her handwriting was beautiful – very neat – and she did a good job with spelling too.

I was supposed to volunteer for art too, but it was cancelled so that they could go to P.E. instead.

Here is something A did for homework a week ago – she had to draw a picture of the setting for a book she had read. She picked Splat the Cat, and here is what she drew:

I love all the detail, and the meticulous drawing of all the cats. She is a very talented girl. And I am very proud of her.
